BOOM! Breaking news out of Columbus as 2020 four star wide receiver, Gee Scott Jr. has committed to the Buckeyes. With the commitment of Gee Jr., the Buckeyes are now back up to six commits, following the decommitments from Lejond Cavazos and Jake Wray a few weeks ago.
Scott Jr., a 6’3 receiver out of Washington has been a player that the staff has been after for a while now. Brian Hartline had identified Scott Jr. as one of the top targets in the 2020 class and worked hard to gain his commitment. Scott Jr. is a consensus top 100 player in this 2020 class, and one of the best receivers in this loaded class.
While the Buckeyes were always big players in the recruitment of Scott Jr., they had to beat out Notre Dame for his services. At 6’3, Scott Jr. has a college ready body at the receiver position. He has the ability to high point the football and make contested catches as well as the foot speed and hands to turn any catch into a touchdown. When compiling the best receivers in this 2020 class, Scott Jr. is near the top of the list.
The state of Washington is certainly not a recruiting hot bed for the Buckeyes, but credit the staff for identifying the talent in Scott Jr. and getting his commitment. He joins Jaxon Smith-Njigba as the second wide receiver class in this 2020 class.
Welcome to Buckeye Nation, Gee, we are glad to have you!
