Just one day after 2018 four-star defensive end Andrew Chatfield committed to Ohio State, the Buckeyes have received another four-star commitment in that of Bishop Sullivan (VA) linebacker Teradja Mitchell.
While Florida State was considered the leader for the longest time in the recruitment of Mitchell, Ohio State surged after a visit in early April. Soon after a visit to Florida State in May, Mitchell announced this commitment date, along with his two finalists- the Buckeyes and the Seminoles.

Mitchell’s commitment is a rare one for Ohio State in that they had not successfully infiltrated the Virginia Beach area for a recruit since Jalyn Holmes picked the Buckeyes four years ago. Florida State has had considerable success in the area, including last year, when they pilfered five-star running back Khalan Laborn.
Mitchell is rated as a four-star. He is the #38 overall player in the 2018 class and the #2 ILB. As for what he brings to Ohio State? He is an inside linebacker, as opposed to Dallas Gant– Ohio State’s other 2018 linebacker commit who will play on the outside. His commitment helps an Ohio State class that was already rated as the second-best in the country up to this point, trailing only the Miami Hurricanes.
