BOOM! Breaking news out of Columbus as 2019 four star offensive linemen, Enokk Vimahi, has committed to the Buckeyes. With the commitment of Vimahi, the Buckeyes are now up to 16 commits in their 2019 class.
Vimahi, a 6’4 263 pound offensive guard out of Hawaii is a giant get for the Buckeyes. With the huge need for offensive linemen to round out their 2019 class, the Buckeyes got their top target with the recruitment of Vimahi, a top ten ranked guard in this class.
Vimahi was a newer name for Buckeye fans that started to emerge after the early signing period. Ohio State convinced the Hawaii native to use an official visit and things really started to take off after that. Thought to be a USC lean for a while, Vimahi held off signing early, which allowed the Buckeyes to get into this recruitment and ultimately win the battle. Notre Dame and Oklahoma were also the two other teams that were also in the race for Vimahi.
With Vimahi signing with the Buckeyes, the offensive line class looks a lot better than it previously did, and it still has the potential to become even better with the announcement of Dawand Jones later today. Getting Vimahi was a huge need for the Buckeyes, and Ryan Day pulled off his best Urban Meyer impression and become “The Closer” that fans have been so accustomed to seeing.
Welcome to Buckeye Nation, Enokk, we are glad to have you.
