When: Saturday, November 17th, 2018
Where: Maryland Stadium | College Park, MD
Time: 12:00p ET
The Ohio State football team travels to College Park to take on a talented Maryland team. The Buckeyes will look to avoid the upset before The Game on November 24th.
An impressive showing on both defense and special teams elevated Ohio State to a win last Saturday in East Lansing against then 18th-ranked Michigan State. The Buckeyes finally put together a stout defensive performance and it could not have come at a better time than to start the stretch run.
Ohio State continues their road trip as they head to College Park to take on the Maryland Terrapins. The Buckeyes will look to continue to build on their momentum from last week. They will attempt to string together elite showings on all three sides of the ball for sixty minutes in what would be the first complete game of the season.
On the other hand, Maryland has been dealing with some adversity as of late on and off of the field. Moreover, starting Quarterback Kasim Hill tore his ACL and will not be able to play on Saturday. As a result, expect the Terrapins to attempt to shorten the game by running the football early and often.
As for the Buckeyes’ offensive game plan, I expect them to fine tune the passing game and then emphasize the power run game. Dwayne Haskins should still see a big day statistically on Saturday through the air accounting for three touchdowns. Mike Weber and JK Dobbins should be a great 1-2 punch as Ohio State looks to continue their new found ground success against a very talented Maryland defense.
All in all, the Buckeyes and Terrapins had the makings of an intriguing matchup before Hill went down with an injury. Who knows, it still may be a good game, but the odds have certainly taken a dive. Ohio State also needs to be careful to avoid the “sandwich effect” on College Park as Maryland is the matchup between two physical rivalry games. Be sure to tune into ABC at noon ET to catch the action of this mid-November conference clash.
