Ohio State vs. UCLA Preview

Chris Holtmann and the Ohio State basketball team travel to Chicago today to take on the UCLA Bruins in the United Center partaking in the annual CBS Sports Classic. The 10-1 Bucks will look to add another win and move up from their current ranking of 15th. The 7-4 UCLA squad will look to upset the Buckeyes after being completely dismantled by the Bearcats in Cincinnati Wednesday night. The Bruins fell 93-64 to the same Bearcat team that Ohio State topped in their season opener.

The Bucks will have to continue their incredible defensive play and contain the Bruin’s leading scorer and leader in Kris Wilkes. At over 17 points per game, Wilkes can score from anywhere and the Buckeyes will certainly turn their attention to him Saturday afternoon. Ohio State will also likely look to take advantage of UCLA’s defensive inconsistency. They allowed Cincinnati to shoot nearly 60 percent from beyond the arc.

The Bruins will look to slow down Kaleb Wesson who is on an offensive tear setting career highs in each of the past two games. They certainly have the size with 7’1” Moses Brown along with their other numerous lengthy bigs. Jaylen Hands also will look to win his battle with the Buckeye lead guard C.J. Jackson. Both guards do a great job of distributing the ball and running their offenses and will be the keys for their respected teams.
